Counselling Terms & Conditions
What Counselling Is
Counselling is a confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It aims to support your emotional wellbeing, but everyone’s experience is different and results cannot be guaranteed.
What Counselling Is Not
Counselling is not a medical or emergency service. I do not provide diagnoses or prescribe medication.
If you are in immediate danger, please contact 999, your GP, or NHS 111.
Confidentiality
What you say in counselling stays private.
There are a few situations where I may need to share information, for example:
If there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else
If a child or vulnerable adult is at risk
If I am legally required to share information (e.g. court order)
These limits will be explained clearly at the start of counselling.
Your Information & Data (UK GDPR)
Your personal information is kept securely and handled in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
You have the right to ask to see the information I hold about you.
Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
Attend sessions on time
Give notice if you need to cancel
Take responsibility for your own decisions and actions
Let me know about anything important that may affect your counselling
Appointments & Cancellations
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange
Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged
Repeated missed appointments may mean counselling needs to end
Fees & Payment
The fee is £ 90.00 per session
Payment is due before the session
Sessions already attended are non-refundable
Online Sessions (if used)
Please make sure you are in a private, quiet space
Internet or phone problems may occasionally affect sessions
Online counselling carries small confidentiality risks, which you accept by choosing this option
Professional Boundaries
Our relationship is professional and focused on your wellbeing. To keep counselling safe and ethical, personal or social relationships outside sessions are avoided.
Ending Counselling
You can stop counselling at any time.
I may also suggest ending or pausing counselling if it is no longer helpful or appropriate. Where possible, I will discuss this with you and offer other options.
Complaints or Concerns
If you have any concerns, you are encouraged to talk to me about them. If needed, you can also contact the relevant professional body.
Agreement
By booking or attending sessions, you confirm that you:
Understand what counselling involves
Understand confidentiality and its limits
Agree to these terms and conditions
